It's reported that the Japanese steelmakers have hiked the prices for steel long products recently, supported by stable demand from construction industry and higher steel and raw material prices.
Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp (NSSMC) hiked the contract price for H beams by ￥3,000/ton for July and Tokyo Steel increased the actual selling prices for steel long products by ￥3,000/ton for August.
Besides, Yamato Steel and Kishiwada Steel increased rebar prices by ￥3,000/ton for August.
At present, the actual selling prices for section steel products are at ￥70,000~￥71,000/ton and the rebar prices are at ￥60,000~￥61,000/ton.
